Business challenge

A defence contractor required a transformation of its programme management approach to handle the integration of multiple complex defence systems within a single programme. It also needed to improve its operations so it could run effective projects with the wider team.

Our solution

We worked with the programme management team to identify root causes of the client’s delivery challenges. We then incrementally implemented a series of programme management improvements including changes to the programme management organisation, the allocation of programme management responsibilities across the team, planning and scheduling improvements, and the management of impediments impacting delivery teams. We coordinated the capture of the new ways of working within a comprehensive Programme Management Plan and supporting guidance material. 

RESULTS

The programme transformation resulted in an increase in integration efficiency and a reduction in the risk of delays or system incompatibilities. The contractor successfully integrated the defence systems on schedule, ensuring that the programme met all contractual obligations.
